Yoga/Pilates
Every Monday at 6.15pm & 7.15pm for 60 min
£8.50 per person, £4.25 for leisure club members and Hotel guests.
Also available 8 consecutive lessons for £60 (£30 for leisure club members)
Missed classes are non-refundable.
Flex with Yoga and strengthen with Pilates
The classes cater for people of fairly mixed ability and suit a reasonable range of fitness. The exercises are not "calorie burning", but concentrate on stretching to make the joints more flexible and toning the muscles, particularly those of the abdomen and pelvic floor. My aim is to increase bodily awareness and hone the pathways that control posture and core stability (to protect and support the back). At the same time an ability to "spot relax" muscles aids techniques to increase flexibility. Over a period pupils learn Stott Pilates exercises, which I explain in a helpful way in detail, plus participants will learn how to perform, and get the best benefits from many Hatha Yoga Asanas, beside some breathing techniques and a little philosophy and visualisation.
